Glassworks (New Markets) – BARNSLEY

Burgess Associates were part of the Specialist Electrical Installation Contractors team constructing this new Glassworks (New Markets) project in Barnsley.

The project was to build a brand-new state-of-the-art library and shopping area in the centre of Barnsley to replace the previous market area which was located there.

The project consisted of the building of a 13-screen cinema, 7 restaurants, 25 shops and 670 new parking spaces for the town centre.

Our role during construction was to carry out progress surveys and assist with pricing Compensation Events. This meant weekly site visits to photograph and record progress along with recording events that were impacting on the regular progress. The benefit to our client was that the project was financially up to date with additional works costed as the project was carried out.

IKEA GREENWICH

Due to the success of IKEA Sheffield Burgess Associates were part of the MEP contractors team undertaking the entire MEP works on the ‘Flagship’ IKEA store in Greenwich.

We had responsibility for the MEP commercial management working closely with the Main Contractor and the sub-sub contractors on the project from early procurement to Final Account settlement.

The project included interfaces with Ground Source heat and a roof top Pavilion adding some new aspects to the Ikea stores.

Burgess Associates were part of the MEP contractors team undertaking the entire MEP works on the new build 33,000m2 store in Sheffield.

We had responsibility for the MEP commercial management working closely with the Main Contractor and the sub-sub contractors on the project from early procurement to Final Account settlement.

Our role required tight change control procedures and agreement process throughout.

JOHN LEWIS- PETERBOROUGH

Burgess Associates were part of the MEP contractors team undertaking the entire MEP works on the refurbishment 93,000sqft store in Peterborough.

Burgess Associates were an integral part of the MEP contractors Team during the Two Stage Tendering process and throughout the Project to Final Account. This project followed on from the successful completion of Commercial Services works on previous projects with the MEP Contractor.

We had responsibility for the MEP commercial management and advice, working closely with the Client, Main Contractor and the sub-sub contractors on the project from Procurement to Final Account settlement.

PUMA Distribution Centre – Castleford

Burgess Associates were part of the Specialist Electrical Installation Contractors team constructing this new PUMA Distribution Centre project in Castleford.

The project was to convert an empty warehouse into a distribution centre in Yorkshire for PUMA to storage and distribute their products around the north of the country easier.

The project consisted of converting a 261,000 square foot warehouse space into a fully functional distribution centre that will employ 125 new workers.

Our role during construction was to carry out progress surveys. This meant monthly site visits to photograph and record progress along with recording events that were impacting on the regular progress. The benefit to our client was that the project was that they were able to provide an accurate % complete to the client for the installation of the busbar and lighting on the project.
